Apps Purpose

Aurasma allows the creator to attach a video to a photo.  For example, a students might read a story and then make a video where he or she recommends the books to others.  The student will take a photo of the book and future students who take a photo of the same book with the app will be able to view the video on top of the photo.  After making an account with my device I am able to use my computer to make and Aura at Aurasma Studio.

Uses

Aurasma can be an effective tool to provide multimedia review or information to students.
1.  Year end learning expectations may be posted on a bulletin board allowing for students to take a photo with the Aurasma app to access associated media.
2.  Steps to an example  math problem may be illustrated and then a virtual demonstration may be provided with Aurasma.
3.  Word walls may utilize Aurasma.
4.  Students might make videos to go with vocabulary words and these may be used with the Aurasma app.
5.  Student presentations may be presented in a gallery walk.
6.  Students may take a picture of a book and produce a book trailer or book talk video.  This way other students who might want to check out the book may pick the book up off the shelf and see the book trailer.

Get Started
Begin by download the app and setting up your account.  A tutorial on my iPad took me through the steps.
